Starting in early 2022, North Korea began embarking on a new round of high frequency missile testing, much to the alarm of the international community. This started with the first test since October on January 5th, leading to more than x total tests. <todo: add context of what Kim has said he wants to test in recent speech/talks>
January 5
Launched: Eastward at 8:10 AM from Jagang. 120 km lateral movement, 700 km target.
Ballistic Missile, Kim was not in attendance.[1]
Initially referenced as "unidentified short-range projectile that is presumed to be a ballistic missile." sent towards the East Sea.[2] DPRK reporting a day later identified the launch as testing a "hypersonic" missile.[3]
January 11

According to KCNA: "The test-fire was aimed at the final verification of overall technical specifications of the developed hypersonic weapon system."
January 14
Two projectiles: 2:41 PM and 2:52 PM. Mach 6, 430 km alt 36 km.[6] Targeting Al Island.
Two "tactical guided missiles". Train based. Unknown if Kim was in attendance.[7]
